For the 516 Arouca Bridge, we designed and built a Virtual Reality experience that allows visitors to cross the bridge through natural movement.


A standard treadmill was transformed into an interactive platform using custom hardware and software developed specifically for this project. Every step taken by the visitor moves them through a recreation of the bridge, creating a seamless connection between the physical and virtual worlds.


The experience goes far beyond the VR headset. It combines storytelling, interaction and technology to reveal the bridge’s engineering, history and surrounding landscape through contextual content that appears naturally along the journey, without breaking immersion. From the first idea to the final installation, every part of the experience was conceived as a single system. Hardware, software, 360° capture, interaction design and content were all developed to serve one purpose: making visitors feel that they are truly there.
